About the work
Hello, my name is Hennie Farrow! I'm an artist, designer, and educator living in El Cerrito, California. I've spent over 25 years working in the ever-evolving world of technology and design. Alongside my career, I've always loved painting and making art with my own hands, exploring a more personal, hands-on side of my creativity.
Lately, I've been revisiting techniques I first explored at the Academy of Art in San Francisco and embracing the joy of creating something tangible. While my work in technology has always been creative, painting offers a different kind of freedom, where I can slow down, experiment, and let the process unfold naturally.
My studio, the Hen House, is my little creative haven. It's where I get to play, experiment, make a mess, and turn ideas into something tangible. I love the little imperfections, the unexpected discoveries, and the beauty of creating something entirely my own.
In a world where so much can be perfected, generated, or undone, my artwork celebrates the beauty of the handmade. After all, some of the best things in art can't be erased with Command Z.
